In the northern areas of Pakistan, the Pak army is fighting at many forefronts. The cost is not limited to deaths the financial losses are also huge for the poor people of the region. Family sufferings are extra ordinary and almost all of them have been forced to migrate to other places leaving their homes and valuables behind.
Many Alamgirians are among those fighting the enemy at these forefronts. Not only they have profoundly performed in their call of duty, but gone beyond. They have fought Jihad within Jihad.
Today, I am going to tell you the story of such an Alamgirian who has done more than required from him.
I have known Major Imran Safdar Khokhar (then a captain) for many years. He contacted me when I started www.Alamgirian.org in 2003. He was stationed in the northern areas to fight against terrorists.
Months later, Imran was transferred to Punjab and we remained in contact infrequently for some time.
Meanwhile, he got married and was promoted to the rank of major. We started communicating once again more frequently when he was moved to fight enemy in Swat district and around.
Imran couldn’t just stand there and watched the poor people suffer. His heart went out for them. One day he came across a three year old boy Najeeb Ullah, who was suffering from congenital heart problem (tetralogy of falot) by birth also commonly known as hole in the heart.
Najeeb Ullah's father is a poor man, and did not have money to get him treated. Imran said, "Najeeb Ullah's father told me that he knew that his son was going to die as he was very helpless. I felt like doing every thing possible for this little angel. Regardless of the situation I was in, where I could not personally help this boy, I still decided to find other ways to him".

Imran says that he talked to a family friend Dr. Nuzhat Far
uqui at Agha Khan University hospital and discussed the matter with her. From there on she took the matter in her own hands. She talked to her colleague Dr. Muneer Amanullah, who is a Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Agha Khan Hospital Karachi regarding Najeeb Ullah.

It was greatness of Dr. Muneer Amanullah that he not only agreed to operate him for free but also volunteered to share half of the expenditure through hospital charity.

Najeeb Ullah's father was told to go to Karachi and meet Dr. Nuzhat. The father did not even have fare for train to Karachi. Imran said that his colleagues came forward and arranged the fare. Najeeb Ullah with his parents reached Karachi late that evening. They were instructed to head straight for the Hospital as doctors were waiting for them.

Dr. Nuzhat received them at Agha Khan Hospital. The fear of unknown was evident from the parents face. Dr. Nuzhat tried to counsel them, and took them to Dr Muneer Amanullah`s clinic who was waiting after hours for the kid to arrive from Swat. Najeeb Ullaj was also examined by Dr. Mehnaz Atiq (Pediatric Cardiologist).
Najeeb’s surgery was planned for corrective open heart surgery. After one week he had his successful heart surgery.
Imran says, "By the grace of Almighty Allah, surgery went fine. Najeeb Ullah made a speedy recovery, and was discharged from hospital to go home on the 5th day after surgery". Najeeb Ullah is living a normal life playing with other kids.
